Whole-mounts of Drosophila embryos were stained with the monoclonal antibody Vmp 18 , raised against the peptide 199-208 of murine interleukin 1 / alpha.
It was shown that the 3A6 antibody specifically recognizes the alpha subunit of nitrate reductase , and the formation of the enzyme-antibody complex does not result in a loss of the enzyme catalytic activity.
These results suggest that chlB mutants can produce a component or cofactor which is missing in the other mutants and in the Neurospora mutant , but can not transfer it to the nitrate reductase enzyme.
When partially purified chromatin is passed through a Sephadex G-200 column in the presence of 1 M NaCl , enzyme activities catalyzing the liberation of nicotinamide from NAD elute in two peaks.
