RESULTS : No significant differences were found in the salivary levels of IL-1beta , IL-6 , IL-8 , and TNF-alpha in BMS patients compared with controls.
The data suggest that wogonin may inhibit IL-6 and IL-8 mRNA expression via the suppression of NF-kappaB binding activities.
Both the NF-kappaB inhibitors in the presence of SB203580 had more inhibitory effect on IL-6 release.
We found that NF-kappaB p50 expression strongly induced interleukin-6 (IL-6) upregulation in melanoma cells at both the transcriptional and translational levels and that IL-6 production by melanoma cells enhanced the growth of endothelial cells in vitro.
Altering the balance of Jun/ATF2 transcriptional activities sensitized melanoma cells to apoptosis , an effect that could be attenuated by inhibiting c-Jun.
